Research Based, Neuro Treatment in White Plains for:
What is Neurofeedback?
Neurofeedback, to put it simply, is the study of brainwaves. This alternative treatment method is designed to help us better understand certain conditions on a cranial level and measure brainwave activities connected with patterns. We study this information closely and then enable the people of White Plains, NY to learn to control these brainwaves. As patients learn to self-regulate these brainwaves, they will experience a decrease in symptoms for anxiety, insomnia, headaches, depression, and more.*
What is Biofeedback?
Biofeedback is the study of the connection between the body and the mind and how conditions impact of affect this connection. The goal is to enable our patients to learn more about their specific body functions. As our White Plains patients learn to better control these autonomic functions, like heart rate, skin temperature, and muscle tone, there can be positive changes in emotions and behaviors.* The relation between the body and the brain is strong, and Biofeedback capitalizes on that for the benefit of your health.
What is QEEG?
Known on more technical terms as a quantitative electroencephalogram, a QEEG is a necessary step before beginning Neurofeedback or Biofeedback. It is a personalized map of the brain, tracking electrical patterns across the scalp. We gather information related to these patterns and compare them with a standard base of information. This cross-checking system helps us better understand specific conditions.

Common Neurofeedback & Biofeedback Questions:
How Does Neurofeedback Work?
Neurofeedback places direct emphasis on the study of brainwaves and their responses to certain symptoms and conditions. This information (feedback) collected on the brain (neuro) is gathered through harmless sensors and advanced computers and technology we have here at our office. Neurofeedback is a therapeutic treatment designed to help our White Plains patients learn to self control and regulate their brainwaves. This helps them decrease unwanted brainwaves and cortical activity and increase desired ones. When these specific brainwaves are detected, we then can begin establishing a new pattern of brainwaves. We cement this new pattern through repeated practices and a reward system, accomplishing this change on a subconscious level.
What Does the Neurofeedback Process Involve?
Every treatment session begins the same. The first step is to perform a QEEG brain map for each patient. This brain map enables us to better understand your condition and your direct experience with it, as everyone is different. Once we understand this condition, we then develop a treatment plan for your specific needs. This treatment plan can involve Neurofeedback, Biofeedback, and even a combination of different therapeutic approaches. Treatment sessions consist of harmless sensors of the ears and scalps, which measure electrical activity while you watch a movie. Each White Plains patient and each condition is different, and so naturally each treatment plan is different. The number of treatment sessions can vary anywhere from 20 up to 100 sessions. On average, our White Plains clients visit our office twice a week.
How Do I Get Started with Neuro/BioFeedback?
