How To Deal With Oppositional Defiant Disorder

Dr Roseann Capanna-Hodge

Here are my best tips as a therapist for dealing with a child diagnosed  with Oppositional Defiant Disorder

Set clear boundaries. Kids should know what is acceptable and isn't acceptable in your home.

It's crucial that you stay calm when dealing with the behavior. Yelling and screaming will only make the behaviors worse.

Try not to get into a power struggle with your child. No one wins when this happens.
