What is Neurofeedback?
In order to relax the nervous system and relieve symptoms, the brain self-regulates. Without this self-regulation, anxiety, depression, and other physical symptoms can surface. Neurofeedback is a safe, non-invasive form of treatment of studying the information (feedback) of brainwaves (neuro) and reinforcing the change.* Biofeedback differs from Neurofeedback by focusing on autonomic functions.

What is Biofeedback?
Biofeedback differs from neurofeedback in that it controls one’s autonomic functions rather than brain waves. By using biofeedback, one can learn to control their breath, heart rate, skin temperature, or other bodily functions. We use electrical sensors in order to measure and give information (feedback) about the body (bio). We can record the results, thus allowing the patient to learn to control subtle changes. These changes might include relaxing muscles or reducing stress. To have power over your body means you can begin to improve your health.

What is QEEG?
A QEEG (quantitative electroencephalogram) brain map is the measurement of electrical patterns on the very surface of the scalp that reflect cortical activity. A quantitative EEG is a computer analysis of the EEG data. This EEG data is compared to a database of a standard set by other people’s EEG so that we can use that database as a reference. Specific patterns can be a sign of depression, anxiety and many more. The QEEG is used both for treatment planning and progress.
