Research Based, Neuro Treatment in New Milford for:
What is Neurofeedback?
Neurofeedback is a safe, non-invasive treatment used to study the information (feedback) of brainwaves (neuro) and to reinforce change.* With neurofeedback treatment, the brain can self-regulate in order to calm the nervous system and diminish symptoms. Without self-regulation, problems such as anxiety, depression and other physical symptoms can occur. Biofeedback is different from Neurofeedback due to its focus on autonomic functions.
What is Biofeedback?
Biofeedback is used to learn how to control your bodily functions like breath, heart rate, and skin temperature. Patients are connected to electrical sensors to measure and give information (feedback) about the body (bio). Biofeedback differs from Neurofeedback because it is the control of autonomic functions. Through Biofeedback, you can record, track, and learn to control subtle changes, such as relaxing muscles and reducing stress. Taking control over your body will improve your health.*
What is QEEG?
QEEG stands for quantitative electroencephalogram. This is a brain map that measures the electrical patterns of the surface of the scalp to reflect cortical activity. A quantitative EEG is a computer analysis of the EEG data. This data is then compared to a reference database filled with a standard set of other people’s EEG results. Certain patterns may be a sign of depression, anxiety and more. A QEEG helps doctors chart a treatment plan and can help lead to the road of healing.*

Common Neurofeedback & Biofeedback Questions:
How Does Neurofeedback Work?
Neurofeedback is the process of helping someone learn to modify their own brainwave activity. We are capable of monitoring brain waves and brain functions to show live feedback to the patient. Over time we can train the patient to change their own brave waves, and promote or reduce certain brain wave frequencies associated with the negative behavior By using a strategy that utilizes reinforcement and rewards, new electrical activity is produced in the brain and brain wave activity is changed to a desired performance. As the brain learns to self-regulate, symptoms will be reduced.*
What Does the Neurofeedback Process Involve?
The process of analyzing statistics produced from an EEG is known as a QEEG. This data allows Dr. Roseann to devise a brain map and identify problem areas. From this data she will produce a complete treatment plan.
